Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has released a Medical Advisory on Playing in Extreme Heat, addressing the presidents and general secretaries of regional football associations and clubs. The advisory, which was released on April 3, 2023, was based on the recommendations of the PFF medical panel.

The purpose of the advisory is to remind match organizers of the hazards of playing in extreme heat in the Philippines. The advisory includes guidelines on how to prepare for matches and training sessions during periods of extreme heat, including recommendations for hydration, rest breaks, and proper conditioning.

Before the release of PFF’s medical advisory, Kaya FC Academy has already released its guidelines to ensure the safety of its students during training and matches. You may check out these releases here and here.

The PFF encourages all football clubs and associations in the Philippines to review the advisory and implement the recommendations to ensure the safety of their athletes.
