Kaya FC Academy Updates: August 22–28

Schedule this week remains unchanged.

We would like to inform everyone that Coach Steve Nicholls is going to take over the girls program at the academy. He will be overseeing the formation and development of the girls teams across all age-groups and skill levels.

Coach Steve holds a UEFA “B” license and has coached all over the world, including the Middle East, the US, Russia, and across Asia. In addition, we will be launching new teams for girls to cater to younger age-groups, with the aim of training and playing together. At the academy, we believe that football is for everyone, and one of our goals is to encourage girls to learn the beautiful game.

We encourage everyone to attend the futsal class at North Forbes every Friday. Futsal is important for the development of young players because it offers the best way to improve one’s comfort level with the ball. It develops both ball control and technique. In addition, playing in enclosed areas can develop creativity since the sport demands quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pinpoint passing. Believe it or not, Brazilians attribute their success in football to futsal. If you have any questions about futsal, let us know.

We are proud of the U11s for their remarkable achievement! Despite losing to Machong (China), we finished at the top of the group and reached the round of 16. Thank you for everyone’s support. They had a great time at the Gothia Cup China, and we showed that our U11s can compete on the international stage. They are young and promising, and their story continues. Until the next tournament! ‪
