GATORADE CUP AND UFL YOUTH

Our U12s participated in the Gatorade Cup last Saturday—won twice, drew twice, lost once, but sadly, went out on goal difference. Nonetheless, they still played well.

Moreover, the UFL Youth League kicked off this weekend! Our U11s lost in a dramatic game versus MSA, 6–4, despite being up, 4–1, early on in the game. Coach Thomas’s U13s also experienced heartache, losing to Laos, 1–0, with virtually the last kick of the game.

Our U15s got their campaign off to a great start, beating Archers, 2–1. Coach Diego’s side has a very talented squad, and we are excited to see how their season develops. Coach Joel’s U17 girls won, 3–1, versus Loyola to get the girls’ season off to an excellent start as well. Lastly, Coach Steve’s U17s rounded off the weekend’s action with a 6–0 win over Ceres. The three-time U17 champions continue their great run in the UFL Youth League.

FIRST TEAM

After beating Stallion, 2–1, Kaya won third place in the recently concluded 2016 UFL Cup! Robert Lopez Mendy, who scored a brace in the third-place play-off, claimed the Golden Boot Award with 11 goals, while Miguel Tanton was named Best Midfielder.

On April 12, we won, 3–0, against Balestier Khalsa in our second AFC Cup away game. You can watch the highlights here. It was an amazing game in front of an amazing crowd at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore. We are grateful for all the support we have received from everyone, especially the Filipinos and supporters in Singapore who made us feel like we were playing at home.

Speaking of home, our third AFC Cup home game is on April 26 against Kitchee at Rizal Memorial Stadium. Kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Please contact CAN Sports Group at 0917-5387589 or info@cansportsgroup.com to buy tickets, which are also available at the venue on match day. We’d love to see you there as we represent the country in the AFC Cup!
