The U8s, U10s, U12s, and U17 Girls participated in the Loro Cup this weekend, and we are proud of their performance in the tournament. Congratulations to everyone! We hope everyone enjoyed the experience. Joining tournaments is not just an opportunity to play and compete, but it also gives players confidence in themselves. And we all share the experience of pride and joy!

Our U8s were undefeated on the day, but they lost in the semifinal and third-place play-off on penalties. The semifinal loss to Ateneo involved many of our Kaya players on the Blue Eagles, so well done to them too.

Our U10s lost, 3–2, in the final despite going the group stage without conceding a goal. A slow start in the final left us 3–0 down, but a late comeback almost secured a draw.

Likewise, the U12s played some excellent football, albeit eventually losing in a physical final versus MSA. The U17 Girls finished fourth on Sunday’s tournament in a highly competitive girls bracket.

Don’t forget, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and your Kaya family is committed to raising awareness and standing in solidarity with ICanServe Foundation’s cause. It has been a fantastic week of raising awareness, and we will still be in Rockwell every weekend, Friday through Sunday, to help man ICanServe’s pop-up booth with breast cancer survivors or friends/relatives of survivors. ICanServe’s pop-up booth at Power Plant Mall is on the concourse level (P1) across from Rustan’s Marketplace and BreadTalk. Come and drop by!

In the spirit of raising awareness, and as a supporter of ICanServe since 2011, we will use their hashtag #RibbonsOfLife to promote their advocacy, which is early breast cancer detection through high-impact information campaigns and community-based screening programs. Feel free to post a photo of yourself or with your family and friends—be creative—doing the pink ribbon pose with your hands (see photos above). Tag us on Instagram (@kayafcacademy), and we’ll share it! Don’t forget to use #RibbonsOfLife and #KayaXICanServe.
