On October 12, 2014, Kaya and Kaya FC Academy, in partnership with ICanServe Foundation, kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Emperador Stadium with an exciting football event. We invited children and families from the academy and children from various organizations such as Gawad Kalinga, LBC Foundation, and Tali FC to participate in a carnival-themed event. There were seven different football-inspired stations with activities kids and adults could try for a fee of 50 pesos per station: speed test, dribbling test, penalty competition, accuracy test, juggling competition, obstacle course, and hardest shot. The winners of each station, divided into several age-groups (8 and under, 9–12, 13–15, and 16 and over), were awarded with a prize to acknowledge their skills. We received generous donations from Baskin-Robbins, Nike, Bootcamp, Shakey’s, and Gratitude Granola, to name a few.
We would like to thank everyone who made the ICanServe Carnival for a Cause event successful. Your incredible generosity, huge contributions, and continued support made it happen. Proceeds will go to ICanServe Foundation to promote early breast cancer detection and community-based breast cancer screening. Our hearts are full of thanks! Everyone helped move the ICanServe Carnival for a Cause event forward to success.
